This is one of my AP Art peices. We were challenged to make an image that shows the body inside and out, and the environments' effect on the inside and the outside. I ended up choosing the American medicare system, and how said medicare system views all people as machinary almost, and the more pills the person takes, the more 'oil' for their 'gears' gets applied, so they 'should' get better, right? So each of the body parts represents a disease, sickness, or abnormality in the human body and how the medicare system tries to 'fix' these abnormalities through medication, which can hurt more than it helps. The man in the center is from daVinci's man diagram, which is used often in medical documents, diagrams, and symbols.
It was actually rather strange to draw the daVinci man, mostly because I was thinking how it's likely that daVinci was drawing from a cadaver for that, so I was basically copying a picture of a man who has been dead for lord knows how many years. Which then lead me to think of how many times the original has been distributed and how this guy is on all kinds of things, but no one has any idea who he was (or if it was just one guy, could have been several). It was rather...odd.
I'm not bothering to put a warning on this, 'cause if daVinci didn't censor it, I won't either. It's not overly detailed, anyway.

Everything was done with ballpoint pen, a B pencil, and an H pencil on copier paper, scanned in, reassembled, textured, and texted.

That's pretty amazing! :O

You're quite skilled, it has a well thought message, and it is relevant to my interests: calligraphy, art on parchment, and anatomy :)

How do you get that old paper back ground?

Well, this particular background is a somewhat adjusted stock I found on dA (but I can't remember where I got it, so I didn't cite). I had all the images on seperate files, so I used this layer masking technique where I select only the black, make a new layer, then paintbucket it, so I get only the lines and not the white (only works in greyscale mode). I then imported all the images into my main file and threw the texture in the background. Voila! Instant parchment background! (You can do the same thing by setting your images to 'Multiply', but I find that on some of my images, it makes the texture underneath look darker than it does in areas that don't have the image on it)
